Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped
  • 1 can 15 ounces diced tomatoes
  • 1 can 15 ounces black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can 15 ounces kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can 15 ounces pinto beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can 15 ounces chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Brown the meat: In a large pot, brown the ground beef and ground turkey over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  • Sauté vegetables: Add the onion, garlic, and green bell pepper to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Add tomatoes and beans: Stir in the diced tomatoes, black beans, kidney beans, pinto beans, chili powder, cumin, oregano, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  • Simmer: Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2-3 hours, or until flavors have melded.
  • Serve: Serve hot, topped with your favorite chili toppings, such as shredded cheese, chopped onions, sour cream, and avocado.
  • Tips:
  • For a spicier chili, add more cayenne pepper or a teaspoon of hot sauce.
  • You can add other vegetables to your chili, such as corn, zucchini, or mushrooms.
  • For a thicker chili, add a tablespoon of tomato paste or a splash of cornmeal.
  • Serve with crusty bread or cornbread.
  • Enjoy your spicy and savory chili!
