Moist and Delicious Cornbread Recipe for Any Meal

Ingredients

  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Instructions

  • Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease an 8x8 inch square baking pan.
  • Combine dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Combine wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, melted butter, egg, and honey.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool and serve: Let the cornbread cool in the pan for a few minutes before serving.

  • For a sweeter cornbread, increase the amount of sugar.
