Ingredients
4
medium tomatoes
diced
1
large onion
diced
1
jalapeño pepper
seeded and minced
1/2
cup
fresh cilantro
chopped
1/4
cup
lime juice
2
cloves
garlic
minced
1
teaspoon
ground cumin
1/2
teaspoon
salt
1/4
teaspoon
black pepper
Instructions
Combine ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, cilantro, lime juice, garlic, cumin, salt, and pepper.
Mix well: Stir the ingredients together until thoroughly combined.
Adjust flavor: Taste the salsa and adjust the seasonings to your preferred taste. Add more lime juice, jalapeño, or salt and pepper as needed.
Chill: Transfer the salsa to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
Tips:
For a smoother salsa, roast the tomatoes and jalapeño before dicing them.
To make a chunky salsa, leave some of the tomatoes and onion in larger pieces.
For a spicier salsa, add more jalapeño or use a hotter type of pepper.
Serve the salsa with chips, tacos, or as a topping for grilled chicken or fish.
Enjoy your homemade salsa!
